FCDCA Disconnect
Separation, in total control

FCDCA Disconnect

The familiar sight of a strategic missile or space launch disconnecting from its boosters is only possible via its dynamic disconnect components. Disconnects are ideally designed to ensure reliable energetic transfer with controlled transfer interface geometry that provides for separation during a staging event.

Reliable by design

EBAD disconnects are constructed primarily from 6061 aluminum alloy to meet stress corrosion requirements with a chemical conversion coating that provides a grounding path for static electricity. EBAD disconnects satisfy the range safety requirements of EWR 127-1 which specifies the alignment for explosive charges for reliable detonation transfer. EBAD disconnects are available in various configurations including cross-over block, piston-cylinder disconnect and explosively severed disconnect, for partially or fully confined explosive events based on mission need.
