Hold-down and Release Mechanism Firing Unit (HFU)
Reliably Activate HDRMS
The Hold-down and Release Mechanism Firing Unit (HFU) is used to actuate NEA® Hold-down and Release Mechanisms (HDRMs) for the deployment of spacecraft. The HFU provides 20 primary and 20 redundant firing outputs based on capacitive discharge firing circuits designed to reliably activate HDRMs and maximize the simultaneity of the release.
